Dear all,

I dont have must HIS experience and looking for links/info/thoughts on how
HIS integrates with BizTalk while using the Adapters for the Host Systems
(DB2/Host Files/Host Apps).

I'm planning to use the DB2 Adapter which comes along with BizTalk Adapter
for Host Systems to connect to DB2 Instance on AS/400 and wondering if we
require an instance of HIS for this integration, or is it straight forward to
use the DB2 Adapter just as any other RDBMS adapter in BizTalk.

I'm looking more concrete information to start my development. Please
provide me your valuable feedback.

Cheers,
Karthick G.

Hi Karthick,

You only need to specifically install and configure HIS if you're going to
connect to DB/2 using SNA/LU6.2. I expect you won't be doing this and will be
using tcp-ip. If that's the case then the biztalk adapter should be all that
you need.

(Some components of HIS are still used for tcp-ip, but I expect the Biztalk
host adapter install to do this for you behind the scenes)

Hi Neil,

Thanks for the clarification.

Yes, i'll be connecting to DB2 using TCP/IP. But is there any gotchas/key
points to note in HIS configuration while using TCP/IP?

Cheers,
Karthick G.

Hi Friends,
I am using db2 adaptor in Biztalk environment,i can get the data from AS/400 system without orchestration process, but problem is here,i i get request from javaclient for searching into data into the database(as400),want to get the response from there.

i am trying to creat schmea for that to map to the response schema, but i couldnt able create schema using db2 port , if am gi ving query simple returning results set without any fields like RowsAffected and ResultSets.

so how i can do end to end scnerial like receving request processing from db2 database and sendin response back.

if any body have solutions with db2 adaptors please help that would be great help
